Bob, and a wider team of lifesaving Newfoundlands led by Pete Lewin, have been announced as the winners of The Kennel Club Hero Dog Award at Crufts 2022.

Pete Lewin is a long-serving Paramedic with East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust. He has been serving the people of Leicestershire for over 25 years. Nutriment has supported Pete and his work through sponsorship since early 2015.

Pete Lewin Newfoundlands began as a water rescue demonstration group. Whilst working as a HART Paramedic and being trained in water rescue, Pete saw the potential for the dogs to be used in real life rescue. And the rest – as they say – is history.

Fast forward to today, and Pete and his dogs Bob, Sonar, Storm and Walker offer emotional support to people who may benefit from open water swimming and interacting with Newfoundlands, from front-line emergency services staff to military veterans and those suffering with mental health.

Pete and his team are part of a global support network aimed at preventing suicide – making a huge difference to those in need in the UK and worldwide.

A huge congratulations to Pete, his team and his dogs on this hugely deserved win and recognition!
