The Benefits of Nutriment's Puppy Starter Pack

Convenience

Along with regular exercise, vaccinations, grooming and bedding, a quality source of food is essential for young pups. Rather than juggling multiple food types, Nutriment's Puppy Raw Starter Pack offers a well-balanced, nutrient-rich option that makes feeding simple, whether you're a first-time owner or a breeder feeding multiple bowls. Each handy 500g pack contains the right balance of moisture, protein and fat to keep puppies healthy, active and thriving.

Custom-made for young dogs.

After the initial weaning period, puppies move on from weaning paste to solid food that's tailored to their stage of development. Our Puppy recipe steps in at exactly the right moment, enriched with vitamins to fuel growing bodies, with nothing artificial and no fillers. Raw feeding is one of the most scientifically sound decisions you can make for a young dog, and our recipe makes it straightforward from day one.

How long should I use puppy food for?

Generally, puppy food is recommended for the first year. With raw feeding, the key difference is quantity rather than formula; puppies need 4–6% of their current ideal bodyweight, compared to 2–3% for adults. We suggest introducing adult recipes from around 6 months to provide a wider variety of tastes, textures, and nutrient profiles. The only thing to remember: growing puppies still need a higher quantity of food until they're fully grown.

How much should I feed my puppy?

Up to 6 months, feed 3 times a day and divide the daily allowance into equal portions. As your puppy grows, reduce to 2 meals and gradually increase portion size. Doing this slowly helps avoid excess weight gain. Once fully grown, transition to 2–3% of their current ideal bodyweight.

This is a frozen raw meat product and must be stored and handled accordingly. Once defrosted, this product will remain fresh for 3–4 days in the refrigerator.

Puppies should be fed 5-6% of their growing body weight and Adult dogs should be fed 2-3% of their ideal body weight.

This is only a guide. Some dogs may need, more or less to maintain proper weight. We recommend feeding any dogs over the age of 6 months twice a day. Depending on the breed of your puppy depends on the age they can move to adult formula, larger puppies can move over sooner, but still feed puppy rations until they are fully grown.

Puppies

With puppies between 3 – 6 weeks old, you can start on our weaning paste. Just like with babies, you want to introduce plain and simple foods first. Our weaning paste is ground to a paste that will have fine bits of bone, which is great for puppies' teeth and easy for them to digest. The weaning paste is only intended as a supplement to the mother's milk. They should be allowed to suckle first then offer the weaning paste.

After 6 weeks, you can start introducing our puppy food which is still very fine and a simple, bland food. By the time they reach 4 months, you can start introducing the normal formulas.
