Father’s Day gifts that will have dog dads barking for joy

They say that dogs are a man’s best friend, so what better way to celebrate that special bond than to get the dog dad in your life a special gift from the pup this Father’s Day.

Taking place this year on Sunday 19th June, we’ve put together a list of gift ideas to help inspire you!

  • You can’t beat a good pair of socks (as long as you don’t let doggo near them!). But did you know you can buy socks with your dog’s face printed on them? They make the pawfect gift for dad to enjoy when he puts his feet up with a cuppa this Father’s Day. Design and order yours here!

  • Speaking of cuppas, a good mug makes a great gift that be used and loved all day, every day! There are endless options online for this idea, from different breeds, to personalised pictures and words, so get searching for the perfect dog dad mug (biscuits optional!).

  • Pawtraits are a fab and fun way to celebrate the dog in your life, so they make a great gift from the pooch! Paw & Glory make pawsome (sorry!) portraits of your pets with all sorts of outfits and in all sorts of themes. They’re guaranteed to make your Dogfather smile and are are a perfect keepsake.

  • Have human babies as well as furbabies? Personalised story books make a very touching gift from all of the kids on Father’s Day. Books are gifts that can enjoyed by all the family, so this is a great way to get everyone in involved. Create your own story here!

  • Are you a ‘dog on the sofa’ household? If so, this cute cushion could take pride of place on the settee when you snuggle up in the evening.

  • Fun days out! Father’s Day falls in June, so fingers crossed the weather is going to be warm and dry. This means you can plan a dog-friendly day out that could include a nice long walk in your local country park or nearest beach, followed by a big roast lunch at a dog-friendly pub or restaurant. Use a website such as dogfriendly.co.uk to find out what establishments welcome dogs in your area.

  • Is he a chocolate lover? If so, these milk chocolate dapper dogs are an adorable gift idea. Of course, make sure these are only enjoyed by the humans and kept away from dogs as chocolate is toxic for them.

  • Do doggo and dog dad enjoy walks in muddy parks or fields? If so, maybe some new wellies would go down a treat? The Welly Warehouse stocks a huge range of wellies suitable for dog walking from a range of brands (and he can wear his new dog socks too!).

  • If dog dad is a dedicated dog lover, a donation to a doggy charity in his name makes a fantastic gift that truly does keep on giving. There are lots of charities to choose from, from big national charities such as Dogs Trust and Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, to your local dog shelter that will be thrilled to receive donations of money or toys, bedding, food etc. which has a more personal touch.
